FLOCKED FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
Pink plastic flamingoes are flocking to area homes and businesses as part of a fun, fundraiser for Planned Parenthood of Northwest Ohio, Inc. (PPNWO). The flamingoes are landing in the area to raise funds and awareness about the comprehensive reproductive health, family planning services and prevention programs that PPNWO has provided to women, men and teens in Northwest Ohio for 70 years.
The flock is accompanied by a large pink sign that states, “Flocked for a Good Cause” with several flamingoes fastened with PPNWO information and donation envelopes. “Flockees” collect donations from colleagues and friends to support PPNWO programs and services. The flocked person or business has three choices: 1) flee the flock -by collecting donations of any amount, 2) forward the flock -with a minimum donation of $70 per flock they will be forwarded to another person or business, or 3) flaunt the flock -for a minimum donation of $50 per flamingo and, they can choose to keep them).
Volunteers from PPNWO move the flock and collect donations. The flock is removed after one week, unless another request is made. Permission is required before a flock can be placed at a home or business and no illegal activity is permitted.
