"I am here because a 13 year old girl who is like a niece to me has just become sexually active. Even though us adults don't agree or don't want teenagers to have sex, most of them are going to! So would you rather your children be on the pill and not ever come home saying they're pregnant, or just ignore it assuming they never will? I was a young mother and now a single mother and though I'm 26 it is still hard! It's better to be safe than sorry! So she's here without her mother knowing, which is OK, because I'm here for her."
 

Programs for HIV and AIDS

In 1990 PPNWO agreed to house a HIV Risk Reduction Specialist. From that time many other programs have developed within PPNWO.


HIV Counseling and Testing
Free and Confidential HIV testing and counseling is available from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM every Wednesday evening at Jefferson Avenue, except the day before holidays, on a walk-in basis. Testing is available at all clinics at other times by appointment at all PPNWO locations.
